I really like Brink and I'm hoping there are other like minded TnG members here who may be able to assist me in playing Brink competitively (eventually) & just having reliable people who will be keen to play strategically.

Obviously this thread will remain open (even if the poll doesn't) as more members join TnG and if Alex doesn't have any gripes we could possibly create a TnG gaming clan/community.

So, if you own Brink & want to play with other people that aren't douchebags, please feel free to vote & leave a note.

Cheers!

I have no gripes. A tng gaming clan sounds great, its one reason I setup an official steam group. I haven't kept up with the new games recently, especially when I still have a fair few to finish. What sort of game is Brink? Is it multiplayer only? Or single player too?

Obviously you have stuck this in the Action/Adventure section, and I have seen the TV ads, but what exactly is the game about? What do you do? I may well be interested in being a part of it, after I have picked it up of course. :)

Excellent! Guess we'll see how things pan out.

It's essentially a multiplayer game with a 'fake' single player campaign.

Basic premise for the story is that a free-floating city (the Ark) is over-run with refugees due to the increasing sea-levels and they are severely pissed off with the fact they have to live in shitty shanty towns compared to the closed off luxury of the other parts of the Ark.

After being so pissed off they form a tight-bloc militia in order to escape but the security forces of the Ark are sent out to stop them as they don't want the secret location of the Ark to be known by outsiders - pretty fuckin' stupid secret tbf.

The story isn't really put to the forefront weirdly, it's odd. It's definitely a multiplayer game I enjoy playing, like a decent TF2 that's been sleeping with Borderlands & Mirror's Edge.

Definitely worth picking up once it's £10 or less. Bit buggy atm though.

Best price I can get atm is £22, are there any demos about?

Was that from SendIt.com?

Don't think any demos do exist tbh.

There are a couple of places that do it for that price atm. I'll have a look round at some gameplay vids and stuff, but I might not pick it up till I can get it for nearer the £15 mark.

Unless it looks particularly good, as there are a few other games out recently I haven't got yet either.

Splash Damage are pretty quick at getting the patches out tbf, but it is far from 'finished'. I'd definitely hold out rather than paying £20 or over for it. Weirdly you can't buy it on Steam in the UK so I guess they're waiting for it to be completely finished before bringing it back online. Don't think we'll see a Brink sale for a few more months yet mind.
