Microsoft Release Xbox 360 Update, Adds USB Storage Support
Microsoft have now released the previously announced update which adds support for USB storage devices from 1 GB up to 16 GB usable. Although the Xbox 360 supported USB devices by way of storing user's music, photos and videos, any system content, profiles or game saves, etc could only be made portable via the use of an official Microsoft Xbox 360 Memory Unit. Following suit of Sony's Playstation 3, Xbox 360 owners are now able to format any USB device with a minimum capacity of 1GB, with up to 16 GB of usable space for use like the official memory unit. From Major Nelson's Blog:
"Sometime over the next few hours when you sign in to Xbox LIVE you'll receive a prompt to accept this mandatory update. If you are signed into LIVE already, you may be signed out and asked to accept the update and you'll be back online in a few moments."
