Built off the back of Debian 6, Ubuntu 11.04, codenamed Natty Narwhal has reached its first Beta milestone. The developers have tried to simplify this releases by only having two version to choose from. You now have straight forward "Ubuntu" which combines the old Desktop and Netbook Editions into one and then there is "Ubuntu Server", previously named Ubuntu Server Edition. Been going for HOURSSSSS... Gunna pop it on a spare HDD and see how this baby looks/performs
I have had a few brushes wih Ubuntu, and I would switch to linux in a snap if had better support from game developers. If I could play all my games natively and run steam on linux, I'd ditch Windows.
Not that I don't like it, but I always prefer free and open source. Linux is a lot more customizable too, and what I've learned setting the tng server up with Debian 6, is only scratching the surface.
If Steam natively supported Steam, without the use of Wine, i'd be on in seconds.
Download finished. Just need a mini-hdd to install it to
