Sapphire has released an overclocked and enhanced cooler version of AMD's top end HD 7970 graphics card. It features goodies such as Sapphire's new dual-extractor, Dual-X, cooler; core clock up significantly from 925MHz to 1425MHz and memory from 1375MHz to 1425MHz (5700MHz effective). It features a dual BIOS switch to boost clock speeds even further: core 1GHz, memory 5800MHz effective. There is also a new version of the TriXX overclocking tool, available free from their website allowing adjustment of clocks, voltage and fans with up to 4 profiles. It supports HDMI 1.4a for 3D video and driving next generation 4K displays and can support up to 6 monitors using Eyefinity. Of course, the card features two CrossFireX connectors for 3 and 4 way setups. Pricing is to be announced, but the card should be available very soon now.

PowerColor's description: "The retail bundle for the SAPPHIRE HD 7970 OC is second to none. In addition to the standard bundle consisting of an Active mini-DP to single-link DVI adaptor for Eyefinity setup, CrossFire bridge cable, HDMI to DVI adaptor for dual DVI setup, DVI to VGA adaptor, 8 pin to 4 pin power adaptor and 6 pin to 4 pin power adaptor, SAPPHIRE also provides an extra mini-DP to DP adaptor and a 1.8 metre HDMI 1.4a cable".

Hardware Heaven reviewed it here and thought it was fantastic.

Clever idea of setting the second bios on different clocks, although I think you meant to say they have increased primary core clocks slightly from 925 to 950 rather than 1425. (That would be pretty impressive)

I wonder how the vrm temps compare to stock. Quite often 3rd party coolers don't do it properly like XFXs double diffuser.
