Grand Theft Auto 5 (GTA5) What We Know So Far

Recently Rockstar announced that they are currently going a head with the development of Grand Theft Auto 5 (GTA5). At the moment everything is extremely closed doors with only one press release actually made to confirm the development. Here is what was said officially.

We are very proud to officially announce that Grand Theft Auto V is in full development.

Developed by series creator Rockstar North, Grand Theft Auto V heads to the city of Los Santos and surrounding hills, countryside and beaches in the largest and most ambitious game Rockstar has yet created.

A bold new direction in open-world freedom, storytelling, mission-based gameplay and online multiplayer, Grand Theft Auto V focuses on the pursuit of the almighty dollar in a re-imagined, present day Southern California.

Rockstar also released a sneak peak preview of what we can expect with a short trailer.

As you can see by the trailer and the official press release it leaves alot to be thought about by the general public which leads to a lot of speculation. Here at techngames.com we will try our best to keep all information regarding Grand Theft Auto 5 (GTA5) as accurate as possible by using official news only. At the moment very little news has been actually released but I'm sure we will see a lot more in the near future.

I really hope the 'realism' rumours are true.

I remember reading something about the map taking 30mins to drive across and there being wild animals. Pretty sure i read that you have to fill your car up (and also blow them up using petrol trails) and use people as meat shields :D

Ooh sounds cool. I prefer the idea of filling the car up with fuel than having to fill the character up with food.

Cant wait for this game

I read this ages ago myself and I'm sure it was suppose to be an idea for GTA4 which they never actually implemented. For now everything is just hugh speculation unfortunately. I just hope it is much better than GTA4 as that was quite disappointing compared to San Andreas.

I guess we will just have to wait and see.

I can't piggin' wait! I really should play GTA IV; my GF played it and I watched, which is rather backwards. As soon as I can afford some more RAM I'll probably give it a shot in the mouth.

I tell you what, people may give BD some stick, but I fired up GTA IV again now I have one, and it absolutely loves it. If there is one game I have found so far that really makes use of it, it is that. I thought it was entirely GPu bound after I moved from a Q6600 to a 1090T and it made bugger all difference. But now, its like butter!

GTA 4 really hammered your CPU. When the game was released it was made for CPU's that wasn't really out at that time which caused many people lots of problems. I remember at the time I had an E2200 CPU clocked to 2.6GHz and it really struggled so upgraded to an E8400 and clocked it up to 3.6GHz which made a massive difference.

I can imagine it did, lol. Thing is the CPUs on the consoles were really ahead of their time, PS3 can do 8 threads (although only 7 usable) and 360 can do 6. Nothing in the mainstream amrekt was capable of that in 2005/6. The GPUs on the other hand were cutting edge, but are a bit behind now, although it still does amaze me what they can do with this old hardware, and GTA V looks like it wont be an acception :D
