Yes, you read that correctly, the February driver was released only yesterday, the reason given being, "The AMD Catalyst™ 12.2 Certified driver (It is the same driver as the Catalyst 12.2 Pre-Certified, but will be officially Microsoft® certified) will be posted in late February or very early March 2012." Searching for the latest driver for your graphics card currently takes you to the pre-release driver release notes dated 16th February, but it's supposed to be the same as the very latest WHQL driver released yesterday. This can be downloaded hereand there are no release notes for it at the moment.

We don't remember such a delayed release before, so AMD must have had quite a tough time debugging and qualifying them. Presumably then, the March driver will come out within the next three weeks? We're holding our breath.

Anyway, on to the driver and it's improvements (as per the pre-release notes). There are no performance improvements stated, but super sampling antialiasing is now available for DX10 & DX11. Custom resolutions for Eyefinity modes have been greatly expanded, Profile Manager has been improved allowing a seamless switch between various Eyefinity and display configurations, among other goodies.

There are quite a few fixes such random texture flickering in HAWX & MW3, Blu-ray flashes of green colour resolved and random texture corruption in Dirt 3.

Windows 7 has an irritating problem fixed where installing the driver would disable Aero options, plus there are more flickering fixes for games.

For the full list of fixes and known issues, check the pre-release notes.
