Microsoft Unveils Windows Phone 7 Series
Submitted by alexp999 on Mon, 02/15/2010 - 18:32Today at Mobile World Congress 2010, Microsoft Corp. CEO Steve Ballmer unveiled the next generation of Windows Phones, Windows Phone 7 Series. With this new platform, Microsoft offers a fresh approach to phone software, distinguished by smart design and truly integrated experiences that bring to the surface the content people care about from the Web and applications. For the first time ever, Microsoft will bring together Xbox LIVE games and the Zune music and video experience on a mobile phone, exclusively on Windows Phone 7 Series. Partners have already started building phones; customers will be able to purchase the first phones in stores by holiday 2010.

Submitted by alexp999 on Mon, 02/08/2010 - 12:24In an interview with GameReactor at Game Jam in Copenhagen, Creative Director of Microsoft Game Studios Europe and main man at Lionhead Studios, Peter Molyneux ended their discussion talking about Fable 3. After saying there was an announcement for Fable 3 in the coming weeks, Molyneux sagely agreed to it being at X10 and said "...there are some very very big things happening in Fable," and went on to say, "...its going to really upset people..." saying he is scared about making the announcement, Molyneux then said, "...they're gonna get super pissed off...". However he is insisting whatever this news is it is the right thing to do, and as discussed earlier in the interview, Peter Molyneux now takes what he says in public seriously, anything he does say is final and he intends to demonstrate any said features. FurMark 1.8.0 Hot Like Hell Edition Available

Dubbed by the creators as the Hot Like Hell Edition, 1.8.0 has updated post processing effects and a new effect based on vertex displacement mapping, all targeted towards creating more load and more heat on recent graphics cards. As a result, the scores you get in 1.8.0 will be lower than that in previous versions. You can download it from here. A full changelog follows:
Corsair Launching 512 GB Performance Series SSD
Submitted by alexp999 on Tue, 02/02/2010 - 20:17Appearing on the UK retailer Scan for over £1200 GBP, Hexus have also managed to source a shot of the 3.5" SSD beast. From the information available on Scan's website, all we know at the moment is that it is an aluminium enclosure with 3.5" form factor, this being larger than your standard 2.5", but along the lines of the size of a typical mechanical disk drive. It boasts read and write speeds up to 200MB/s and 240MB/s respectively and also 128MB cache which appears to consist of DDR2 chips judging by the product title. There is no official release date as yet and the product is only available as a pre-order while waiting for an ETA, however it is expected to make an appearance at CeBIT next month.

With increased recording density, the EcoGreen F3 drive is more power efficient by supporting a capacity up to 2TB with four disks.
Gran Turismo 5 Delayed Yet Again to Fall 2010
Submitted by alexp999 on Tue, 02/02/2010 - 19:02Its almost as if we are expecting to hear a Gran Turismo 5 delay every few months, and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe executive James Armstrong has not failed to disappoint. In an interview with Spanish site Canarias Al Dia Armstrong said he expected GT5 to be out "this fall, before Christmas", and confessed that a release date is "not yet decided". Do not expect it to be out then either, as Armstrong was the one who had originally said it would be out for Christmas 2009, its been five years in the making and reportedly $60 million later, we are still facing more delays.

Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City Coming to PlayStation 3 and PC
Submitted by alexp999 on Tue, 02/02/2010 - 18:39Although originally slated to be Xbox 360 exclusive downloadable content, Rockstar Games, the developer behind the Grand Theft Auto franchise has announced it will now be bringing Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City, to Playstation 3 and PC. As with the Xbox 360 version of Episodes from Liberty City, the game will be completely standalone, not requiring the original Grand Theft Auto IV to play and features both The Lost and Damned and Ballad of Gay Tony stories. One would expect the exclusive radio station unavailable to users who downloaded the episodes as DLC for GTA IV, to also apply to the PS3 and PC versions. The official announcement follows:
